The Drain Field Installation Process

The drain field installation process is usually the most expensive part of a new or replacement septic system. Because of this, we take our time to first analyze your property and map out where the drain field where be.

The next step involves digging. If you've got grass and landscaping already, we will do our best to keep it all intact, but please understand, that digging out for a drain field does require heavy machinery and moving a lot of dirt.

Once we have the area dug and prepped for the leach field, we bring in loads of gravel and rock. This will act as a drainage field where the liquid waste can seep back into the soil.

Following rock and gravel will be the pipes. Everything will be laid into place and we will do a final inspection of the field before covering it again with dirt.

Please expect to see our smiling faces for 2 to 5 days as we construct the drain field for your septic system. If we have rainy or bad weather, it may be a few days more because we want the area to be dry to avoid destroying your yard.

Septic Drain Field FAQ's

We would recommend against trying to install your own drain field. If done improperly, the results can be bad. Not to mention it can drastically reduce the lifespan of the whole septic system.
